Walsh Game Photos

September 8, 2009

Amedro-TravisThe West Liberty University offense conducted an aerial circus for most of Saturday’s 48-17 rout of Walsh (Ohio) at Russek Field.

Those two guys over on the right – quarterback Zach Amedro (11) and wide receiver Ryan Travis (22) – were the ringleaders.

Amedro did most of the heavy lifting. The junior signalcaller completed 25-of-36 passes for 358 yards and 4 touchdowns without an interception. He leads the WVIAC with 675 passing yards after just two games. Amedro also moved into the No. 2 spot all-time at West Liberty in passing yards and total offense after just 23 career games.

Travis caught two of Amedro’s TD passes, covering 11 and 20 yards, and opened a few eyes by throwing his first career touchdown pass – a 38-yard rainbow to Kashif Walls in the first quarter that ranks as the Hilltoppers’ longest TD pass of the season.

The junior wideout had 4 catches for 78 yards against the Cavaliers and is averaging more than 100 receiving yards a game through West Liberty’s first two games.

No wonder they were all smiles.

West Liberty Sports Information Director Matt Watson outdid himself with the camera on Saturday, putting together a photo album with more than 150 images. To access Matt’s West Liberty-Walsh photo album, click on the following link: Walsh Game Photos
