BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Kevon Calhoun (right) and the rest of the West Liberty University football team kept their offensive juggernaut rolling Saturday as the Hilltoppers kicked off their West Virginia Conference slate with a 49-26 dismantling of West Virginia Wesleyan on the Bobcats’ home field.kevon_exults

Calhoun topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the fourth straight week while quarterback Zach Amedro remained among the national leaders with his fourth consecutive 300-yard passing performance.

Junior wide receiver Kashif Walls was named WVIAC Player of the Week after pulling in 9 catches for 171 yards and 3 scores while senior wideout Eddie Hills also topped the century mark with 106 yards on 9 receptions.

The defense even got into the scoring act for the first time this season when Mike Kane grabbed a deflected pass and ran it back 55 yards for a touchdown during the Hilltoppers’ 21-point scoring blitz in the opening quarter.

Sports Information Director Matt Watson was on the sidelines for the Wesleyan game and spent the afternoon compiling a photographic record of the Hilltoppers’ first road win of the season.
