The West Liberty defense forced the Pioneers into four turnovers and slammed the door in the fourth quarter after Glenville had cut the lead to 20-17.

Quarterback Zach Amedro led the offense with his sixth 300-yard passing games in as many outings this season.

Wide receiver Willie Walker took up the slack for an injured Kashif Walls. Walker had 8 catches for 150 yards, including an 88-yard bomb in the fourth quarter that tied a 58-year-old school record for the longest pass play in Hilltopper history.

Tailback Kevon Calhoun had his streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games ended at 5 but played a key role in helping West Liberty control the ball for more than 39 minutes. Calhoun rushed for 97 yards on a career-high 29 carries and caught 2 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Wide receivers Eddie Hills and Ryan Travis helped the Hilltoppers play keep-away for most of the afternoon. The two inside receivers each caught 9 passes to remain tied for the WVIAC lead with 45 catches each.

West Liberty Sports Information Director Matt Watson made the trip to the wilds of central West Virginia to put together this week’s collection of game action shots.  To access Matt’s photo album from the game, click on the following link: Glenville State Game Photos
